Four people were arrested today in cities across France in connection with a foiled terror attack, including a 16-year-old girl, according to a statement provided by the interior minister.
Scores of evidence have been recovered by the police including a partially-assembled improvised explosive device.
The arrests happened in the cities of Montpellier, Clapiers, and Marseillan following a two-week investigation spearheaded by the anti-terrorism division and various local police departments.
This announcement came just a week after a soldier patrolling the area around the Louvre Museum in Paris was forced to shoot a 29-year-old UAE citizen that attacked his patrol while welding a machette and shouting “Allahu Akbar”.
France has been hit a number of times in the past two years, and has continued under a state of emergency since the Paris terror attacks in November 2015, in which 130 people were killed and hundreds were injured.
