Remainder of Bragg brigade to deploy

More “Falcons” will move forward to the Middle East to join the rest of their brigade in the fight against the Islamic State, a senior Army general said during congressional testimony Wednesday.

According to published accounts,  Lt. Gen Joe Anderson, the Army’s deputy chief of staff for operations, told a committee hearing that the remainder of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team of the 82nd Airborne Division will deploy shortly to Kuwait to join the rest of the unit, which has already been engaged in the so-called “build partner capacity” mission in Iraq.

More than 1,800 paratroopers deployed in late 2016 to support Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve. The brigade commander, Col. Pat Work, told the remaining troops to be ready for the call – one which apparently came this week.
